To succeed at making large online profits, you need to have a dedicated affiliate force that will actively promote your product offers for you to people you normally would not reach or have a connection with.  This is why it’s important to gain affiliates who are experienced and dedicated to learning and doing well at affiliate marketing.

Many inexperienced Internet marketers think that once they’ve acquired the top affiliates, the work is all done and the money will continuously flow in, but this is definitely not the case.  Just like anything worthwhile, you have to continuously work at keeping your top affiliates motivated and committed to selling your product offers in order for them to help you make the profits you are expecting.

When you are building your affiliate sales force, you should keep in mind the “80/20″ rule – “20% of your affiliates will make 80% of your affiliate marketing profits.”

This isn’t always the case, but is often close enough, which is why you need to really focus on the quality of your affiliates rather than the quantity of affiliates you have in your affiliate program.

Virtually every affiliate program online today will have people who will sign up for the program, but won’t produce many, if any, sales.  Sometimes, the fault lies with the affiliate, as he/she may not be motivated enough to learn the skills necessary to be successful at affiliate marketing.

Finding and successfully recruiting well-respected, experienced affiliates into your affiliate sales force is a major key in being able to increase your online profits by a significant margin.  But, do you know how to recruit them into your affiliate sales force?

Well-respected, experienced affiliates are not just going to take any Internet marketer’s offer to join their affiliate program just because the marketer asks him/her to join.  The fact is, these affiliate marketers have many Internet marketers who come to them with affiliate program and joint venture proposals.  As a result, they can be choosy over whose products they want to promote.  Therefore, you really need to consider several factors before asking them to join your affiliate program and promote your product offers.

Another factor you should consider is how high a commission rate you should offer them.  Because they have so many affiliate program and joint venture proposals to consider, don’t expect a 50% commission rate is going to entice them to join – that’s more likely to get your proposal overlooked and disposed of.  The fact is, 50% commission rates are not as enticing nowadays because everyone is proposing at least that.  For your proposal to be seriously considered, the commission rate will have to be higher than 50%.

To increase your online profits, you want to find as many of the “super,” or top-performing, affiliates as you can find.  However, without knowing where to look, finding a needle in a haystack may be easier.  Fortunately, there are some places online you can go to to increase your chances of finding and recruiting these top affiliates.

One place to find these super affiliates is to find newsletters, blogs, forums, and other such sites.  The owners of these sites are likely top-performing affiliates, as running such informative sites like newsletters and blogs show a level of dedication that goes above and beyond what most affiliates are either doing or willing to do.  In addition, running a newsletter, blog, or both can be a good way to promote products via free advertising, just by posting relevant information about that topic and then including a link to the product’s web page.

In addition, running a newsletter, blog, or forum can enable the owners of these sites to stay updated on the latest developments in the industry easily and for free.  That can give them a distinct advantage in knowing what products to promote and where to promote them, as well as having a reputation for running a specific site, which will likely encourage people to trust him/her and purchase the product offer he/she is recommending.
